What working at Bing Chun is actually like

Retail and food jobs in Lagos attract a lot of postings that are not real. This page says plainly what we are, what we pay, and what happens after you apply, so you can check us against it.

You never pay us anything

There is no fee to apply, no fee to start, no training fee and no uniform deposit. Anyone asking you for money to work at Bing Chun is not us. If anyone contacts you claiming to be Bing Chun and asks for money — for training, a uniform, a form, a "processing fee" — stop, and tell us on WhatsApp so we can warn others.

What the pay is

Every open role states its pay on its own page. Right now:

If you are offered a role, you get the pay, hours and start date in writing on WhatsApp before you start. What is written is what is paid.

Who employs you

Your employer is Belu Meals Limited, the company that operates the Bing Chun franchise in Nigeria. Bing Chun sets the recipes and the brand standards; Belu Meals employs the team, pays you and runs the shop.

What a shift looks like

Bing Chun is a bubble tea, ice cream and dessert shop inside Novare Mall on the Lekki-Epe Expressway at Sangotedo, Lagos — in the food court, between the cinema and Kilimanjaro. Every drink is made when a customer orders it: brewed tea, fresh milk and real fruit, with sweetness, ice and toppings chosen per cup. The brand started in 2012 and has several shops in Nigeria; this is the Novare Mall one.

Opening hours are 9am to 9pm, seven days a week, so every role works shifts inside those hours, including weekends. Counter staff take orders, make drinks and desserts exactly as the customer asked — sweetness, ice, toppings — handle payment, and keep the counter and seating clean. A supervisor runs the shift, opens or closes to a checklist, and reconciles the till. Weekends and the early evening are the busy stretches; a weekday morning is quiet.

What happens after you apply

  1. Tap Apply. WhatsApp opens with a message already written: the role, the store, and one question about your experience. Answer it in your own words and send.
  2. We reply on WhatsApp, and ask you to send your CV there. A photo or a PDF is fine. Our target is to reply within one working day.
  3. If it looks like a fit, a short conversation on WhatsApp or a call, then we ask you to come to the shop at Novare Mall to meet us and see the counter.
  4. If we offer you the role, you get the pay, hours and start date in writing on WhatsApp before you start.

You will hear back either way. If it is a no, we say so, rather than leaving you waiting.

What we do not ask for

Where the shop is

Inside Novare Mall on the Lekki-Epe Expressway at Sangotedo, in the food court, between the cinema and Kilimanjaro. It is a real shop, opening soon; once open, you can walk in any day between 9am and 9pm. The shop is not open yet: Bing Chun is opening soon at Novare Mall. Your start date is agreed with you and confirmed in writing before you begin. Where to find it.
